What is Child-find?
“Child-find” is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that mandates the identification, location, and evaluation of children with disabilities, aged birth to 21. To receive Special Education services children must meet eligibility guidelines as authorized by IDEA. If you know of a child with a suspected or identified disability who lives within the boundaries of the San Marino Unified School District please encourage the parent to call the SMUSD Registrar at (626) 299-7000 to learn about the process of determining the child’s eligibility for Special Education Services.
