San Marino, CA — In the days leading up to winter break, the Carver Elementary Fall Student Council focused on giving back to the community during the holiday season. Through a schoolwide toy drive benefiting the Union Station Homeless Shelter, students collected an impressive 502 toys and 98 books, with donations valued at over $19,000.
Student Council Advisor Stacy Travisano guided the effort, encouraging students to engage in meaningful philanthropic activities and understand the impact of service within their community.
“The success of our Holiday Toy Drive at Carver Elementary speaks to the power of young people coming together for something bigger than themselves”, said
Travisano.
Fifth-grade Student Council President Ryan Azar emphasized that the achievement was a collective effort involving students across all grade levels.
“We came together and made a difference,” said Azar.
Union Station Homeless Shelter expressed great appreciation for the generous
donations, noting that the collaboration exemplifies a true partnership during the
holiday season.
“Our partnership with Union Station in Pasadena allowed our students to turn
kindness into real impact. Carver Kids care and lead with empathy; I am so proud of our students,” said Travisano.
