Shelley Ryan

Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Shelley Ryan earned her Degree in English from the University of British Columbia, Masters in Education and Psychology, and Masters in Administration and Leadership.

Shelley and husband, Kelly, a Civil Litigation and Business Attorney in Pasadena and Monrovia have lived in San Marino since 1996 and have three wonderful children whom have graduated from the San Marino Unified School District and from college-Caitlin, Simon Fraser University; Kieran, Berkeley; and Justin, UC Santa Barbara.

Shelley joined the Board of Education (2013-present), served as President on the San Marino School Board, Pasadena City College President's API Board as President (2018-2019) & previously as Director of Programs, Asian Pacific Islander School Board Member Association, as Vice President (2015-present) & as Secretary, San Marino High School Academic Advisory Committee, Vice President and Director of Programs for the Los Angeles School Trustee Association, California School Board Association Member since 2013, California Delegate for the 49th District, San Marino City Club Member, San Marino Chinese Club Member, Friends of the Crowell Public Library Board as Co-President (2014-present) & as a Board Member (1996-present), San Marino Community Church Member, Huntington Hospital volunteer and a Member of the San Marino Chamber of Commerce.

Shelley directed the Peer Counseling and Conflict Mediation programs, designed curriculum and instruction, taught English, English Language Development, Creative and Technical Writing, World and US History, and was an advisor for seniors for College Admissions for the Alhambra Unified School District. Presently, she is an administrator of Curriculum and Instruction, Positive Behavior Support (PBS), Physical and Social-Emotional Safety, Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and student, parent, and community engagement at Ynez Elementary a K-8 School in Monterey Park.
