About SMUSD
San Marino Unified School District (SMUSD) is the top-performing unified school district in California, for over 18 years. In addition, all SMUSD schools are recognized as National Blue Ribbon schools – the highest award any school can receive in the nation.

We are proud of the achievements of our students and the dedication of our teachers and staff. San Marino is a community that recognizes the necessity of a strong education and the value of investing in our schools to provide our students with the tools they need for success.

Our students have proven themselves to be the best in the State again and again and high-quality, safe, secure, and up-to-date facilities are required to support continued achievement in academics, arts, and athletics. All of our schools were built between 1917 and 1953, and while many of them were renovated nearly 20 years ago, our schools are now in need of further upgrades to keep pace with 21st-century technology and learning environments.

Because the State does not provide adequate funding to maintain and upgrade our facilities, the SMUSD  Board of Education has voted to place Measure S on the March 3, 2020 Primary Election ballot. Locally-controlled funds would protect and enhance the quality of SMUSD schools.  For more information, please contact [email protected].
