Welcome to the SMUSD Health Services Department

At San Marino Unified School District, we believe that health and learning are deeply connected. Our mission is to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our students, minimizing health-related barriers so every child can thrive academically and personally.

 

How We Support Our Students and Staff:

• Proactive Care: Promoting healthy behaviors, preventing illness and injury, and managing chronic conditions within the school environment.
• Mandated Health Screenings: Conducting annual vision and hearing screenings to ensure early identification and support for student needs. Grades: TK/K, 2^nd, 5^th, 8^th and 10^th (hearing only).
• Staff Training: Providing annual health training on EpiPen and Narcan administration and 1:1 specialized health need training.
• Collaborative Partnership: Working closely with students, families, administrators, and educators to maintain a safe, supportive, and healthy school community.
• Dedicated Advocacy: Ensuring students receive the appropriate healthcare services and accommodations necessary to support their education.

Our dedicated Health Services team consists of a District Nurse and professional Health Office Assistants stationed at each of our four school sites.
