SMHS Seniors Receive 2026 Yun-Chung W. Chang Memorial Scholarships

San Marino Unified School District Board of Education Member C. Joseph Chang presented the Yun-Chung W. Chang Memorial Scholarship awards to San Marino High School Class of 2026 graduates Paige Teng and Daghan Ustundag.

Chang established the scholarships in May 2016 in memory of his late mother to encourage the pursuit of biomedical science and support the advancement of research and education in the health professions among students.

Chang and his family are proud to have supported this meaningful scholarship program for graduating seniors for the past decade. Previous scholarship recipients include J.P. Shohfi and Alex Chen (2016); Nicholas Oo and Katherine Chen (2017); Ariana Harvey and Vincent Li (2018); Ben Miller and Alex Ko (2019); Jolene Nesnas and Ethan Wang (2020); Luke Jain and Amelia Kung (2021); Marlene Ketelaar and Chelsea An (2022); Gianna Karkafi and Christopher Jang (2023); Melody Chen and Christopher Deng (2024); and Caitlin Chwang and Henry Lyu (2025).

Chang’s mother graduated from Tokyo Women’s Pharmacy School in 1944 and practiced as a pharmacist for more than 70 years. Mrs. Yun-Chung Wang Chang continually encouraged and inspired her children to actively participate in charitable and community service activities throughout their lives.
