San Marino USD Celebrates Marisa Kelly as Golden Apple Award Recipient

San Marino Unified School District is proud to celebrate one of its most dedicated volunteers and parents, Marisa Kelly, as a recipient of the prestigious Golden Apple Award.

Kelly was honored at today’s annual ceremony held at the Santa Anita Race Track. The Golden Apple Award, sponsored by the Association of California School Administrators and hosted by the Northwest San Gabriel Valley Administrators Association, recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to their school communities.

During the presentation, Superintendent Dr. Linda de la Torre highlighted the many ways Kelly has enriched the San Marino community. She described Kelly’s impact as “that of a comet, leaving a bright path behind it,” and shared a symbolic tribute: a star named in her honor, now known as “Kelly’s Comet.”

Kelly expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and reflected on the broader community of volunteers who make such contributions possible.

“Receiving this award is truly humbling,” said Kelly. “To me, it celebrates not only my efforts, but also the countless volunteers who came before me and set the bar, those who have stood alongside me and made time to serve, and those who continue the legacy and inspire—all in support of our schools and our exceptional community.”

San Marino Unified School District congratulates Marisa Kelly on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for her enduring commitment to students, families, and the community.
