What is Schoology?
Schoology is a learning management system (LMS) designed for K-12. SMUSD teachers, students, and parents all access Schoology to monitor student progress and contribute towards student achievement.

When will Schoology be available?
Schoology is available to teachers and students now. As teachers are preparing their courses, students will not be able to see course content until the first day of the school term. Parents will be emailed their Schoology Parent portal username and password. If a Parent is unable to locate the email from SMUSD, please contact SMUSD Technical Support.

How do I access Schoology?
Schoology is an online system that is accessible via any web browser or through the Schoology mobile apps. For more detailed information about how, please click through the Schoology pages for students or parents.

What's the difference between Schoology and PowerSchool?
Schoology is a learning management system (LMS) whereas PowerSchool is a student information system (SIS). Teachers, students, and parents use Schoology to access assignments, posts, discussions, and more. Teachers, students, and parents can also access PowerSchool to view attendance and assignment/grading information. There is integration between the two systems but each system is unique in its purpose. Visit our PowerSchool website for more information.

Why is Schoology needed if we have Google Classroom?
Schoology is a full-fledged learning management system (LMS) that is compatible with Google products (Docs, Slides, etc.) and can automate many classroom management and administrative tasks (maintaining rosters and schedules, updating contact information for communications). Schoology hosted a webinar explaining why Schoology is an upgrade from Google Classroom at
