The Board of Education is considering the facilities needs of the San Marino Unified School District and recognizes that many members of the San Marino community possess expertise in construction, design, management, legal and regulatory compliance, and financing and may wish to donate their time and efforts to assess and evaluate the District's needs, including capital projects, deferred maintenance, and safety and security improvements. At its January 22, 2019, meeting, the Board approved the formation of a Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) to provide advice and recommendations to the Board.
The Board encourages parents of current students, students who are currently sophomores or juniors at SMHS, teachers, classified staff, and community members who reside or are employed within the SMUSD boundaries, to apply to serve on the FAC for a two-year term. The Board of Education will consider the appointment of members to the FAC at its meeting on Monday, February 25, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the District Board Room. The first meeting of the FAC will be on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. in the District Board Room. Subsequent meetings will typically take place on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, except for June and July, through November.
