Mr. C. Joseph Chang
As a dedicated volunteer in the San Marino community, C. Joseph Chang has served on San Marino Unified School District's Governing Board for 5 years. For the sixteen years of residency in San Marino, he has been an active volunteer in various groups. Joseph has been a trustee of the San Marino Schools Foundation, Treasurer of the San Marino Public Library, Vice-Chairman of Boards on the San Gabriel Valley Red Cross, past President of the San Marino Chinese Club, a Principal of the San Marino Chinese School, a member of both the San Marino City Club and Rotary Club and Co-Chair of the Parcel Tax Renewal. He is very involved in the local organizations such as a Neighborhood Watch captain and was a Director of the Glendora Chamber of Commerce. Joseph is also a participant in local school events such as Grad Night at the high school and a volunteer at the school fairs. For his work with the community, Joseph received the Founder's Day Honorary Service Award from the San Marino PTA Council.
Coming from Taiwan, Joseph has been working as an active healthcare executive in both Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley hospitals. Receiving his M.H.A. from Tulane University, Joseph is currently the President and CEO of an acute care hospital. Managing over 400 employees, his expertise in health administration has led him to become a Preceptor and Assistant Clinical Professor for Health Service Administration, School of Policy, Planning and Development, USC. Joseph is married to Shwu, who is also an active volunteer in San Marino. He has two children, one at San Marino High School and another at college. Both are graduates from Valentine Elementary School and Huntington Middle School.
